What is Fresh Steps?

Fresh Steps is an innovative personal and work development programme from the award winning Springboard Consultancy, specifically researched and designed for older workers.

Who is Fresh Steps for?

Progressive employers who want to address the issues of an ageing workforce, retain and maximise expertise, comply with the new ?Age? regulations.

Individuals who want to embrace the chance to reassess where they are in life and develop a positive strategy to maximising their potential over the next 5, 10, 15 years.....(and beyond!).

Why a programme for older workers - why now?
  • By 2010, almost 40% of the UK workforce will be over 45 years of age. ("Training Older Workers", CIPD Briefing No 3).
  • Changes in pension provision mean many people will be working longer than anticipated and many early retirees would prefer to stay in work.
  • Improved health and life expectancy mean people can enjoy an active life for longer, leading to a longer working life or retirement period than expected.

Far sighted employers will realise that diminishing numbers of younger workers to fill vacancies will create a greater need for older staff to take on new challenges. A market demand is being created for those with a positive attitude to their future.

What?s involved?

An initial two-day workshop followed by a further one-day workshop with the opportunity to explore areas of individual interest inbetween. The specially designed Fresh Steps pack of resources and CD.

and through working with others at a similiar stage in life, opportunities to explore.... relationships with age/time/work/people
  • positve health and financial management
  • relaunching and selling yourself positively
  • turning attributes and experiences into assets
  • mentoring younger colleagues
  • embracing change, new challenges and setting new goals

.....and much, much more!
Personal and work development programme for older workers
"I have found the expereince very motivating, especially sharing thoughts and ideas with other colleagues. It has given me the confidence to be able to try other things and go for qualifications to improve my skills and not let me think that age is going to hold me back."

Lesley Edwards, Social Care and Supported Housing, Walsall MBC
